How to Install a COMPLETELY New Front Suspension in your Car or Truck

  • Learn how to replace the ENTIRE front suspension of your car in this two episode series. Here I will show you how to install a brand new wheel bearing, ball joints, control arms, tie rod, strut, and axle.
The ball joint and wheel bearing has to be pressed into the knuckle and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to make that easy. I show how to properly install a tie rod (safely) and get an accurate measurement so you can get the car aligned. I also show you how to properly torque down bolts with bushings so you don't tear them. The rest of the suspension parts are pretty simple to install and then we go for a ride to see how much better the car handles!

hate to be a n00b but i just did this on my parents car. Though i had some real issues with the snap ring on the lower ball joint. my pliers couldn't get the ring wide enough. i had to wrestle with it. i went to the parts and local hardware store to see about a bigger set for to do the other side with but they only carried the 2 I had already tried.

520 thumbs down please one of you explain why ...SERIOUSLY WHY ANY ONE WOULD THUMB DOWN WEIRD HATERS

      TENNSUMITSUMA 10 ngày trước

because that's 520 (now 523) shops that can't charge $2000+ dollars in labor to do the same shit! I just looked at all the parts to do the exact same job on my car (minus all the tie rods because I did them a few months ago and the lower control arm because it looks new despite having 155,xxxk miles on it) and so far it's only $348.xx on amazon. I only need the cheapest oe equivalent for my 2012 mazda 6i daily beater, especially since i'm not doing uber anymore.

    hi Chris and everyone,
not sure if Chris would be seeing this, but i have some issue with my ride.
i have changed to a coilover, but it seems that my issue still persist. i do hope you could help.
first is that whenever i go through a speed bump, those made bolted onto the ground type, my front seems to be making a flapping sound.
i am unable to record it from the drive cabin.
second, whenever i drive through a rough ground, there is sorta like a metal hitting metal sound even after changing my coilovers,
i have check the bushing, all seems okay, could it be my steering rack? (rear wheel driven car)
    thank you in advance

      TENNSUMITSUMA 10 ngày trước +1

@Benji Khoo i'm a computer technician not an auto mechanic but my first thought is to check all engine and transmission mounts.

    • Benji Khoo
      Benji Khoo 13 ngày trước

@RICHARD RAHADI the coilovers were check... nothing wrong with it.... wheel clearance is good.. stock wheel, stock height... initially, suspected the stock shocks had issues, that is how the coilover is now in.. but it seems that the flapping sound persist everytime i clear a speed bump... how ever for the clanking sound when drive over uneaven road, im not sure if it is the steering rack...

      RICHARD RAHADI 13 ngày trước

Benji Khoo are the coil overs adjustable? Try to check the adjustments (compression, damping, ride height, etc), as for noise, check for clearance, remove wheel and move the suspension around
